Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data OppsRP ("we", "us") collects through oppsrp.com and the OppsRP game server, why it is collected, and the rights you have in relation to it.

1. Data we collect

• Account data from Discord. When you sign in, we receive your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar and email address. We request no other Discord permissions and cannot access your messages or servers.
• Content. Forum threads, posts, report and application forms, and any links you include in them.
• Activity and preferences. The threads and boards you watch, what you have read, your notifications and your email notification setting.
• Moderation records. Warnings, mutes and suspensions issued to your account, with their reasons and dates.
• Technical data. A session cookie, and IP addresses recorded in server logs and against staff actions.
• Staff accounts. An encrypted two-factor authentication secret, hashed backup codes, and a log of actions taken in the staff tool.
• Game server data. When you connect to the game server, it processes identifiers such as your FiveM licence, Discord ID and IP address, together with your characters, and in-game activity including transactions and item movements, which are recorded for moderation and fraud prevention.
• Account matching. We match your website account to your game account using your Discord ID, so that you can see your in-game warnings and be notified about them on the site.

2. How we use it, and on what basis

• To provide the Service — maintaining your account, displaying your content and delivering notifications (performance of our agreement with you).
• To communicate with you — confirming your email address and sending notices about your threads, reports and account (performance of our agreement, and our legitimate interests).
• To enforce the rules and keep the Service secure — investigating reports, preventing cheating and abuse, and protecting accounts (our legitimate interests).

We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or send marketing email.

3. Who we share it with

• Discord — to authenticate you.
• Resend — to deliver email.
• Hetzner — our hosting provider; servers are located in Germany.
• Cloudflare — DNS services.
• Embedded media providers. Where a post contains media from YouTube, Twitch, Streamable, Imgur, Gyazo or Discord, your browser loads it directly from that provider when you view the post, and the provider receives your IP address under its own privacy policy.

Staff members may access account, content, moderation and game data where necessary to operate and moderate the Service.

We will disclose information to the police or other relevant authorities where required by law, or where we believe it is necessary to protect a child or any other person from harm. Any sexual content or conduct involving a minor will be reported.

4. Retention

• Account data, content and moderation records are kept while your account exists.
• Login sessions expire after 14 days of inactivity.
• Read notifications are deleted after 90 days.
• In-game item movement records are deleted after 30 days.
• Server and security logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

If your account is deleted, your personal details are removed. Posts that form part of discussions with other users may be retained with the author shown as a deleted user.

5. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, its correction or deletion, or restriction of or objection to its processing. Requests should be sent to privacy@oppsrp.com. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

6. Cookies

We set a single strictly necessary cookie, opps.session, to keep you signed in. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Embedded media providers may set their own cookies when their content is loaded; YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode.

7. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal data, contact us and it will be deleted.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be announced on the forums, and the date at the top of this page will be updated.
